Born and raised in Oahu. Malia has been sewing and designing since the age of three. Raised in the ocean surfing Diamond Head & Waikiki, natural elements have inspired Malia from her youngest days. A passionate sailor, placing in the Junior Olympics, and teaching for 15 years around the world. She has traveled around the globe creating and bringing artistic visions to reality, earning her degree in sculpture from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Coming home and sailing to Big  Island, making her life in Holualoa woodworking custom furniture, openin. Since then she has been traveling with her husband, raising two sons around the world surfing, creating, teaching, and inspiring a generation of empowered women.
